Veins
collect the deoxygenated bloods from the organs including other parts of the
body except lungs and heart to supply the blood to heart and lungs. On varying grounds, the walls of veins gyrate and turn thicker
abnormally. Including this abnormal thickness, veins may twist and turn or get
enlarged as well. Primarily there are two types of major veins in the body. One
is superficial vein and the other called deep veins. Blood travels from superficial
veins to the deep veins on their way back to the heart. Superficial veins are
closely attached to the skin and the deep veins are encased in depth by the
muscles and connective tissues which help to pump the blood back to the heart.
Superficial and Deep veins are connected through a large network of other type
of veins called “communicating veins". Deep
veins contain one-way valves which not only resist back flow of blood but
prevent developing varicosities.
Cause
of Varicosities that result in Varicose veins
There
are numbers of causes which can result into varicosities to develop varicose veins. Apart from inherit it genetically factors contribute varicose veins
includes:
·
Hormonal imbalance mainly estrogen and
progesterone in women
·
Excess body weight especially in abdomen
region
·
After effect of thrombosis causing blood
clots
·
Pregnancy
·
Problems in blood circulation for any
other reason creates clots inside veins
·
Injury or inflammation directly on the
veins that cause twisting etc.
·
For rectal varicose veins the chronic
constipation is responsible
Some
Common Symptoms of Varicose Veins
·
Skin above the effected veins appears
blue in colour
·
Clearly visible bulged and twisted vein on
skin
·
Feeling of pain or ache on the area
while sitting or standing for a long time
·
Cramping in leg while in rest
·
Swelling in leg
·
Feeling fatigue in the leg muscle casing
heaviness.
·
Itching around the affected veins
Treatment
of varicose veins
Today
there are various treatments available to treat varicose veins. Glue Closure Procedure in Varicose VeinsTreatment is becoming much popular among the available procedures because it is
much safe and minimally invasive than
other invasive surgical procedures. This recently innovated procedure
is a most simple process to close or shut down and seal the main defective
varicose veins physically with the help of medical glue known as VENA BLOCK which is a chemically
developed element called cyanoacrylate. After administering a very small amount
of this glue into the vein through a small catheter to shut the vein completely,
the affected veins which are glued shut and the blood automatically start to
flow through any other nearest healthy veins. The glue gets hardened after
closing the veins it absorbs in the body gradually.
The
success rate of Glue Closure Procedure is more or less 98.9% and neither
requires any post-operative treatment immediately after the procedure as there
is no need for pre-operative preparations. There will be no feeling of pain or
painful compression stockings after the procedure. In one session of this Glue
Closure Procedure two or more veins can be closed without any complications.
Only a local anaesthetic is sufficient for this procedure and patients will be
able to return in their normal activities immediately if no stockings are
applied, which is rare also.
